Iron Deficiency: Women

In the third episode of the Iron Deficiency podcast series, host Prof Gunnar Birgegård and guest expert Dr Noemi Roy review the many important functions iron plays in the body, providing the background for the high prevalence of iron deficiency in women, particularly in their fertile life and during pregnancies. They address different strategies of treatment, including IV, oral treatment, and nutrition recommendations. Finally, they also highlight the importance of treating iron deficiency after childbirth when the mother comes back home.
